I’m a Product Designer, my pronouns are they/them, and I’m telling company stories by digging deep into the psyche of your customer and splashing the solution to their needs on a screen. I believe hard data, psychology and creativity must blend to create the most compelling product.
I’ve been doing some form of UI design for the past 15 years, starting with building a Wordpress blog from scratch for my Italian Greyhound, Pippin, when I was a teenager. Since then, my career has become more professional but my pets no less ridiculous. Currently I’m working towards making the switch to a full time Product Designer position after realizing it’s the part of all my past careers that has set me on fire in a good way.
Most of my awards have been in writing so far, but I've decided to take my career in another direction. I hold a certification of completion from the UI/UX track at Springboard.
When I’m not bashing out wireframes or metaphorically cracking open people’s skulls to read their brains, I can be found tangling yarn in a variety of fiber arts, taking said yarn away from a variety of cats, dressing several small dogs in sweaters I made them, playing with one very poofy parti poodle, and sketching with ink and painting with watercolor.

My goal is to uncover what the customer really wants, vs. what they say they want. How do we blend business needs with customer demands? With research, creativity and a dash of magic.
01
Discover
Interview company stakeholders to understand goals for the current project and overall growth. Collect data about the ideal user and primary competitors. Develop a problem hypothesis.
Define
Select the best users to interview and begin to collect their feedback about the current problem hypothesis. Refine the hypothesis into a solid theory to begin development of user persona and first wireframes.
02
Develop
Ideate based on interview results. Decide on red routes, bang out wireframes for them, develop lofi prototypes and test them with real, live people. Iterate based on test results. Rinse and repeat as often as necessary.
03
Deliver
Either transfer all files to the client or work with developers to bring the project to life! My own front-end development knowledge, while rather meager, does help with the communication with developers.

03
Define
Gather additional information about the ideal client, market opportunities and design sprint. Getting direct feedback from users themselves through user surveys and field activities.
02
Deliver
Determine design patterns, elements of template pages, different framework options, and work with developers to test design functionality.

I'm your next hire, AMA
What is your design process?
I love the Agile Methodology. Personally I use it more like a guideline than a religion, but it's absurdly helpful. In short: - Research - Ideate - Build - Test - Iterate - Test And keep up whatever combo of iterations, researching, ideating and testing is needed. Just get that MVP out as fast as possible and TEST IT. I think pretty highly of myself, but frankly I don't know crap about what other people want. I need them to tell me. Then I'll make it work for them.
